The role offers personal development opportunities for experienced leaders who will use their skills and knowledge to help targeted school within the county. The increased skills the leader will gain will also help with succession planning, giving high quality leaders, with experience of working beyond their own settings.

We have a number of experience Specialist Leaders of Education who are already trained and are available to provide targeted support in schools. If your school has a specific area for development and you would like to find out how using an SLE could benefit your school please call or email us for more information and costs.

Thinking of becoming an SLE?

We are recruit SLEs in the following areas:

Pupil Achievement Specialist

Leadership and Management Specialist

Quality of Teaching Specialist

Behaviour and Safety Specialist

This interesting and varied role would give you the satisfaction of helping to develop middle and senior leaders in targeted schools, whilst developing your own skills and experience further. We will expect you to be an experienced leader, however, we will give you specific support and training to cover the role of the SLE.

The flexible support given to schools could be a short-term intervention over a couple of days, or depending on the needs of the school, it could be a longer support role. This commitment means that you will need the support of your Headteacher. After the deployment the impact that the leadership support has had on the outcomes for children and young people will be measured against targets agreed during initial meetings.
