The Hatton Teaching School Alliance Secondary Maths Network is aimed at both new and experienced KS4 Maths teachers who are keen to develop their subject knowledge of the new curriculum, with particular focus on raising the number of 7-9 grades in their establishment.

The sessions are hosted by Jo Marston, Lead Practitioner in Maths at Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, an ex-Head of Mathematics and Pearson GCSE/GCE examiner with an extensive background of KS4 and KS5 teaching.

Held at Sir Christopher Hatton Academy in the dedicated training centre. Sessions can be indivually attended or with discounts for all four attended.

Focus of session

  • What helped SCHA achieve 25% A/A* in 2016, and 24% grades 7-9 in 2017? What can be done to improve outcomes in 2018?
  • How to develop student (and staff) understanding of tricky grade 8/9 questions and other topics that are new to the curriculum.
  • Ensuring students revise effectively for grades 7-9. Strategies and resources for both in and out of the classroom.
  •  Preparing for 2018-19.
